The North American headquarters in Bartlett, IL was established in 1990 and is located 30 miles west of the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. The modern 20.000 sq ft building was built in 2006 and includes sales, service, application labs, machine set-up, design and tooling manufacturing.

Sales Engineer USA
Ultrasonic Welding Systems
Position:
After a 3 months training program in our world headquarters in Germany you will work at least for 3 years out of our North American headquarters, reporting to the sales manager. You will contact and visit customers to solicit business and act as an intermediary between our customers and the North American headquarters. You will assist in various stages of a customer’s project including determination of weld feasibility, generating quotations, project management during manufacturing and after sale machine set up and support. A territory will be assigned in the Midwest of the United States which requires up to 50% overnight travel.
Qualifications:
Excellent sales and people skills are a must as well as at least 3 years of technical sales experience in the capital equipment market in need of technical explanation. Demonstrate competence with the customer and establish Herrmann Ultraschall as the technology leader and solution provider, and not as a commodity supplier. Continuous, effective and efficient perception of all sales tasks in the sales territory.
An understanding of plastic materials, mechanical aptitude, good communications skills and proficiency in MS Office are essential. A bachelor degree is required, preferably in an engineering related field. Familiarity with injection molding technology is a plus. Fluent in English and very familiar with the American culture including longer stays or past travel in the USA are a must. The willingness to move to the greater Chicago land area and immerse oneself in the US social life are essential.
Compensation:
We offer an above average US compensation package including salary and commission, plus car allowance.
